You’ll need to be in your caucus room by 6:30. The caucuses will start at 7 and probably finish no later than 8:30, but if you arrive before 6:30,you can socialize a little in the south entryway. John Sievers & Co. will serenade us and Old Abe will provide coffee and treats.

If you can help out by convening the caucus for your precinct in Rochester, but aren't sure which it is, enter your Zip code and address into the polling place finder. Your precinct will be on the right.

Once you sign up, we will contact you for a one-hour Convenor training in February.

Sign up here.

9th Annual FDR Dinne

The Olmsted County DFL party units (Olmsted 20/24 and SD 25) are hosting the 9th Annual FDR Dinner on Saturday, September 30th from 4-8 p.m. at Aune Hall, 1508 Aune Dr. SE, Olmsted County Fairgrounds, Rochester. The ‘Minnesota Miracle’ accomplished by our DFL trifecta started at the local level! Please join us to toast this year’s successes, to support our organizing work, and to help keep the lights on at DFL headquarters.

The evening will feature good company, delicious food and drink, a silent auction, live music, and of course, our local and state elected officials and speakers. The lineup is not yet finalized, but our keynote will be given by Speaker of the Minnesota House Melissa Hortman. Local legislators Senator Liz Boldon (SD 25) and Representatives Tina Liebling (24B), Kim Hicks (25A), and Andy Smith (25B) will speak as well.

To buy tickets - or better yet - a table for 8, please go to the event's ActBlue page. Don’t worry if you don’t have a full table yet! You can list those you have already confirmed, and then we can check other people in at the door. Please buy your tickets and send your checks by or before Saturday, September 23rd.

If you can’t attend, please consider donating to the event. Individuals and families can make a gift of any amount as event sponsors. Sponsors will be recognized in the event program and from the podium that evening as well. You can also add a ticket or two to your order to help folks who might need one.

Your $75 ticket is eligible for a $50 PCR (Political Contribution Refund). Donations to political party units, up to $50 from a person eligible to vote in Minnesota, or up to $100 from a married couple both eligible to vote, can be refunded each year by the State of Minnesota. If you are buying a $700 table and you want everyone at your table to receive a PCR, collect checks payable to Senate District 25 DFL and send all checks together, including yours, to P.O Box 9044, Rochester, MN 55903. Each purchaser will receive a receipt from us, and the form needed to claim the refund. Send the completed form and receipt to Minnesota Revenue and you’ll get a check soon.

Thanks for your ongoing support! The DFL trifecta this year has led to amazing progressive policy for our state. Minnesota stands as a shining example of Democratic values and legislation at a time when US democracy itself is under threat. You have made it happen as a voter and volunteer! We look forward to gathering in September to celebrate and to get ready for more success in 2024 and beyond.

Senate District 24 Central Committee Endorsement Meeting

The main purpose of the meeting is to endorse a DFL candidate for House District 24A, though we will also hear reports from the campaigns and about Congressional District and state DFL events. If you are interested in running for one of the open Officer positions (Vice Chair (must not identify as male) or Secretary) or for an open Director position, there will be elections for those positions. There is a parade at 2 PM Sunday in Hayfield for its sesquicentennial and the Dodge County DFL would welcome your participation.

Please contact Mark Liebow with questions.

Note that Minnesota Highway 57 is under construction. Here is a way around the construction that will get you to the park: Take U.S 14 to the northbound MN-57 exit and go on MN-57 to Main Street, where there's a stoplight. Turn left on Main Street and go one block west to 1st St. W. Turn right on 1st St. W and go north until you reach the park. There will be a sign to direct you to the shelter. Ignore the detour signs.
