  • Chair: The Chair shall convene the Unit Convention (following the procedures described in the Call) and preside at meetings of the Central Committee and Executive Committee.  The Chair shall attend meetings of the State and Congressional District Central Committees.  The Chair shall also perform all other duties incident to the office.

    Vice-Chair: The Vice Chair shall preside at Central and Executive Committee meetings and convene the Unit Convention in the absence of the Chair.  The Vice Chair shall assist the Chair in the discharge of the Chair’s duties and attend meetings of the State and Congressional District Central Committees.

    Secretary: The Secretary shall preserve the minutes and attendance records of all proceedings of the Executive and Central Committees as well as other paper or electronic records created for the Unit. The Secretary shall, at the direction of the Chair, notify members of the Executive and Central Committees of meetings of this organization. The Secretary shall perform all other duties usually incident to the office of Secretary.

    Treasurer: The Treasurer shall have charge of the funds of this organization, and shall make no disbursement thereof without authority or ratification by the Executive Committee or Chair.  The Treasurer shall perform all other duties usually incident to the office of Treasurer.

    Outreach and Inclusion Officer: The Outreach Officer shall be responsible for inclusion and outreach activities of the Unit, working where possible with nearby DFL units.

    Communications Officer: The Communications Officer shall be responsible for internal and external communications of the Unit, working where possible with other organizing units in Olmsted and Dodge counties.

    Data and Technology Officer: The Data and Technology Officer shall be responsible in coordination with the unit’s secretary for maintaining the unit's electronic records; for administration of the unit’s website; for attending State Party training on use of the DFL voter file so the officer can provide training and technical assistance to the unit on use of the voter file; assist other officers with the technological platform on which the unit’s virtual and/or hybrid meetings may be held; and perform other functions as may be assigned by the unit’s Executive or Central Committees.

    Directors (9): The Directors shall perform those functions assigned to them from time to time by the Executive or Central Committees. No more than six (6) Directors shall come from a House District within the Senate District and shall be balanced by gender.

    State Central Committee Members: The State Central Committee is the governing body of the Minnesota DFL Party between State Conventions, which occur every two years. The central committee meets three to four times a year. Its membership includes the State Executive Committee, 50 at-large members, ten elected officials, the chairs and vice-chairs of each senate district, and representatives elected from local party units. The State Central Committee operates under the party’s official documents and the State Central Committee Standing Rules. For matters not covered by those rules, the State Central Committee is governed by Robert’s Rules of Order.
